Boba Fett Cake

“Boba ..who?”

My eyes widened as I listened intently again to what the Man was saying he wanted for his birthday.

“Well, I’ll be happy whatever cake you make but if I could choose, can I have a Boba Fett cake for my birthday?”

By now, I was kinda guessing Boba Fett was not a cousin of Boba Tea or anything related. I ventured further gingerly “Remind me again, who is Boba Fett?”

Boba Fett Bounty HunterMeet Boba Fett …

The Man broke into a big wide grin “Well, he is only the infamous and most feared bounty hunter in Star Wars. Let me show you.” And he proceeded to show me exactly who Boba Fett was amongst his Star Wars collectibles.

This short conversation took place just a week before the Man’s hatchday and I now wished I didn’t ask the question “What cake would you like for your birthday?”

Really, the response I was expecting was more like – “How about dark chocolate or matcha? Maybe s’mores or a whisky coffee cake …” – that kind of reply 🙄

Now what, a Boba Fett cake … where’s that going to come from?

Over the next few days, I kept so cool even I found it funny. The Star War-rior Hubs must have thought I was doing nothing but nobody knew I was so so busy in my head trying to figure out how the Sugar Crumble was going to deliver on this Boba Fett Cake!!

And quietly when no one was around, I was simulating Star Wars galatica moments with the Man’s Boba Fett action figure – trying to work up some artistic inspiration for the birthday bake.

Boba FettA Star Wars galatica moment?

In the end, left with 3 days to the celebration, I decided I’m gonna nail this Boba Fett chap even if I have to tin tack him on the cake – which was exactly what I did.

After days of furious cerebral planning, (that only she knew),  the Sugar Crumble decided to make this fearless artisan interpretation of her Boba Fett Cake.

Boba Fett Cake sliced6-tier pistachio cake with raspberries & snarling frosted peaks!

It shall be a 6-tier pistachio vanilla cake layered with raspberries then slathered in matcha ganache, gamely transformed as a mount of snarling peaks in different Boba Fett shades of hunter green, outer-space black, orange sandstone and steel blue for dramatic effect.

And the final cherry on top? Boba Fett the legendary gunslinging bounty hunter, arched in a supine position, weaponry suited up in both hands, shooting 360 all round from the summit, obliterating all.

The storyline? Come hell or high water, NOTHING can stop the heroic bounty hunter as he conquers this birthday ‘Sarlacc Pit’ and emerges victorious once more.

So yay or nay?😄

Methinks the Star War-rior was well pleased with his birthday cake. He called it the Ultimate Boba Fett Cake and was in absolute awe of this TSC artisan masterpiece!

Verdict? Be careful what you ask … but all in all, one could say the Sugar Crumble has outdone herself again 😊 !
