Hello!
I am Kai (aka Kai Lee ) and welcome to my family food blog. I am once-upon-a-banker turned home baker who is enjoying every minute.
Home is sunny Singapore in Asia where we are ‘sun drenched’ all year round and blessed with a great selection of wonderful eats from the diverse melting pot of different races living here.If there is one truth about Singaporeans – “WE LIVE TO EAT!”
In this household we are excited about food and, we definitely have a separate stomach for desserts! I discovered my passion for baking during the year of my daughter’s primary school leaving exams where we would bake to relieve stress and boy, was it stressful. There is something indescribable yet so comforting when a kitchen is filled with the delicious aroma of freshly baked goodies that just melts away stress!
The Sugar Crumble was birthed with the encouragement of Leonard, my Significant Other and our brood of three. I am thankful for their cheerleading and willingness to always venture as my food tasters, never failing to give praise when they like it or just honest-to-goodness “Yikes, that didn’t work, Mom!’
This blog is for like-minded souls who have a love for food, baking, and would like to exchange ideas, better recipes, create irresistible, sensational desserts/dishes yet easy-to-prepare, easy-to-love recipes, to eat healthy (well, healthy-ish), live healthy and most importantly – have fun!
I hope this blog will also leave a legacy for my three lovelies if nothing else, a generations Book-for-Keeps and that they too will pursue (relentlessly!) their true passion.
“The Righteous eat to their heart’s content” – Proverbs 13:25
So come, join me on my family food blog!
-Kai
